I am one of the founding members of The National Counseling Group. By working with adolescents and adults, I become energized by the challenges associated with helping individuals to improve their lives. With more than 30 years of clinical experience, I have honed my practice of providing evaluations, counseling, and court testimony in cases requiring expert opinions. In addition to my clinical work, I enjoy kayaking, hiking, biking, traveling, cooking, and gardening with my wife and family.
I have been a professional counselor since 1999. My expertise includes my passion for substance use disorders, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, trauma, mood disorders, grief, and working with adults, children, adolescents, and couples. I speak, read and write fluent German. I enjoy spending time with my Shi Tzu “Sugar,” and have an interest in healthcare and brain-related research.
Do you know one of the most important aspect of counseling? Being able to talk to your therapist. If that sounds like a no-brainer, it is. That’s a fundamental part of counseling and I integrate a friendly, warm environment with humor and effective therapy. People seek counseling for a variety of reasons. From feeling depression or anxious to experiencing traumatic events or addiction. Whatever the reason, you won’t be judged. I believe we behave, think, or feel for a reason even if we can’t put a finger on it. I practice psychotherapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I specialize in trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression and work with families, couples, and individuals of all ages. I offer a free first session meet and greet so we can get to know each other. I want to make sure we are a good fit and you are comfortable and confident with my therapy. .
